Highway 5 extension Protest

Protesters from the Eco Watch group have taken to the trees to continue their attempt to stop the clear cutting that is taking place to put in a Highway 5 extension up near Wakefield, QC. The Gatineau police have ordered them to come down from the trees or face a $50,000 dollar fine per day if they continue to disobey their direct orders. The work on the Highway 5 extension was suspended in order to deal with this ongoing protest.
