Highway 5 extension Protest
Protesters from the Eco Watch group have taken to the trees to continue their attempt to stop the clear cutting that is taking place to put in a Highway 5 extension up near Wakefield, QC. The Gatineau police have ordered them to come down from the trees or face a $50,000 dollar fine per day if they continue to disobey their direct orders. The work on the Highway 5 extension was suspended in order to deal with this ongoing protest.

Rally at the Congolese Embassy
Yesterday I covered a rally at the Congolese Embassy, I was shocked at how much they barricaded it off. Residents of the neighborhood had to walk in knee high snowbanks to get around it. The rally was peaceful, but very tense at some moments.

Today I shot the Crown - First Nations Gathering for iPolitics. I've never shot an event with so much security before so it was a really cool experience.

Nepean Raiders VS Gloucester Rangers
Today I shot a CJHL hockey game. I've realized that I really enjoy the challenge of shooting hockey games. I'm going to try and shoot one every week. One thing I've noticed about shooting in the lower league rinks is the quality of the glass and the lighting. It's really hard to get a sharp picture shooting through poor quality glass. Also the lighting quality is different in every arena so it's a challenge to get perfect balanced light.
The Raiders won 4-1 against the Rangers
